Don't Be That Kind of Reindeer: A Message From Santa Claus

Hey guys! Once again, I have a Christmas blog post about SATURNALIA! No, I'm kidding, you Romans. This post is about CHRISTMAS!
Santa Claus sent me a message he wants you to post on your blogs and send to the world. Please, do this, and consider his message.
Dear People, Many of you know of my good friend, Rudolph. He is a young reindeer I have come to like very much. Many a foggy Christmas Eve he has lead me and my sleigh with his bright nose. He is a worthy, kind reindeer, but his story is rather sad. Rudolph was born in a reindeer village called Great Antlers. He has since come to live at the North Pole with me, but I'm getting to that. I previously mentioned Rudolph's bright, glowing red nose. At Great Antlers, other reindeer his age made fun of him because of it. They called him names and excluded him. But when I needed Rudolph to help me, they claimed they loved him. They admired him and were overly kind to him. They had not repented, however. They only decided that …

Christmas Movies Tag

Hello Imaginers! I decided to...dun dun dun...make my own tag! (Is that even legal?)

Rules:
-Link back to the blogger who tagged you
-Answer the questions
-Tag either a general audience or (a) specific blogger(s)

Questions:
1. What is your favorite Christmas movie?
2. Which Christmas movie has your favorite representation of the North Pole?
3. Which Christmas movie has your favorite representation of Santa?
4. What, in your opinion, is the most powerful Christmas movie you've seen?
5. This question you get to write. For me, it is:
What is your favorite song inside a Christmas movie?

My Answers:
1. What is your favorite Christmas movie?
Definitely White Christmas. I love the music, the story, and (of course!) the love story.
2. Which Christmas movie has your favorite representation of the North Pole?
Elf. I love the friendly-feeling workshop and the sleigh and the elves!
3. Which Christmas movie has your favorite r…

Peace, Love, and 50 Posts

Hey Imaginers! Just in time for Christmas, this is Post #50! I know, awesome right! So, I'd like to celebrate with a post all about Christmas. Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love the anticipation, the love in the air, the music, giving away presents, getting presents, the decorations, the movies, celebrating Christ's birth-all of it, except for the commercialism. Best of all is cuddling with your family on a couch, maybe watching a Christmas movie, maybe opening gifts. So, Imaginers, have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Bookworm & my Beast

Hello Imaginers! As you all (should) know, I loveDisney, especially the heroines. (Because Meg and Mulan aren't princesses.) So, I decided to do some posts from the heroines' blogs!

Today's blog is Bookworm & my Beast. Can you guess who it's by? That's right, it's Belle! All right, here goes.

Hello readers! Today I had the most magical experience.
That's right! In the library!

I had a huge epiphany for my novel. You know-Impressionable But Strong. If you're new to Bookworm & my Beast, it's about an orphan girl in a small French village (they always say write what you know!) who is very impressionable, but when an evil lord tries to manipulate her to gain control of her town, she turns the tables on him! My epiphany was about the love interest, who is clearly a spy for the lord but turns out to be a double agent. I was planning for them to meet in the dark and gloomy castle. But I realized-to make the bond between them deeper, they need to m…

Love at First Sight

This is a rant. This is a rant because I completely disagree with the whole idea of love at first sight. I know, I know, it's a beautiful flower that blossoms under the gaze of that Prince Charming of yours. But the thing is, the way it's represented is completely wrong.
Believing in love at first sight has worked its way into culture as being a romantic, a dreamer. I am both of those. Love at first sight is considered the mark of true fairytale romance, the stuff of Cinderella and Juliet. But when you really think about it, it's false. Because it's love at first sight. Sight only shows you what is aesthetically pleasing; it only goes so far. Say what you will about burning eyes--it's simply incorrect. That you can love someone in an instant because of their appearance is very different than the ability to have true love! You don't know the person. I believe you can only truly love once you have shared another's hopes and dreams, wisdoms and follies. Just t…

Me VS Reality

Hello, agents. This is a top-secret record of a conversation with me and reality.

Reality: Hey.
Me: (mumbling) Hi.
Reality: HEY!
Me: Can't you see I'm busy?
Reality: Yes.
Me: Thank you. Please leave me alone.
Reality: (peering over my shoulder) Why are you researching flights from Texas to Washington DC?
Me: For my book.
Reality: (laughing) Oh, yes. Your book.
Me: What? Shut it now.
Reality: It just seems illogical to call 9 chapters a book.
Me: 9.3 repeating. Who cares?
Reality: I do.
Me: Well, I certainly don't.
Reality: Yes you do.
Me: Don't.
Reality: Do.
Me: DON'T! Now, can't you just leave me alone?
Reality: No.
Me: WHY NOT?!!
Reality: It's in the name. Reality. You can never escape me.
Me: Yay. I'm sure you're fun at parties.
Reality: Did you know that I don't have a sense of humor?
Me: Aw, come on!

Guess what, guys? I did ACTUAL WORK on my book today. Isn't that awesome? Look and see for yourself.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey guys. I know many of you will not be able to read this on this holiday and the rest will prefer watching parades on TV and family dinners, but I wanted to give you all a special post celebrating a time of gratitude. Thanksgiving is a time to relax and count our blessings. Often, we are too caught up in the world of money and duty and chores and school and what-have-you to see the wonderful things, people, and rights that exist in our lives. Thank you all for reading my blog. I love blogging, and I love sharing my writing and strange humor and logic with all of you. We're all little people in a big world, but remember that all of us have something to be grateful for. Whether you are American or not, whether you are cruising or sinking through life, whether you even celebrate Thanksgiving, I know that if we count our blessings, we will realize just how lucky we are. I believe that God gives us more blessings than we can hold, if we really let them in. Some of you may not believe…

Disney's Megara

Image
Hello, Imaginers! I had a brainchild...wow that sounds wrong...that I wanted to share with y'all!

I call it: Megara.

So we all know and love Disney's Hercules right? Right?Okay. Well, I thought, what if Disney made a sequel sort of thing all about Meg's life? Come on, you know it would be awesome! And depressing. But mostly awesome! Who's with me? Here's the basic plotline:
Disclaimer: None of these pictures are my property AT ALL.

The movie cover:

Reply to Bekah

Hey y'all! Bekah just posted a blog post called Reasons I'm Not a Stereotypical Modern Tween. I decided to do a follow-up post, my reasons I'm not a stereotypical modern tween. Yeah, I'll admit it, I like clothes to a certain extent. But I am not a stereotype. And no one is.

Reason #1: I don't know anything about the modern celebrity world.
I love Taylor Swift music, but that's about it. Otherwise, I listen to Wicked, The Lumineers, Disney, and The Beatles. I don't get why Uptown Funk and Watch me Whip are popular. I know nothing about music today. And, I know very few celebrities. Here is my list of great famous people:
1. Louisa May Alcott
2. L.M. Montgomery
3. J.K. Rowling
4. Joan of Arc
5. Terry Pratchett
6. Roald Dahl
7. Thomas S. Monson
You get the picture. Five of those are writers and two religious leaders. Well, Joan of Arc wasn't really a religious leader, but you get it. Also, only two of those are still alive.

Reason #2: Sword fight time on!

Halloween/Phantom

Have any of you Imaginers (I'm sorry, I must) seen The Phantom of the Opera? It's SO. GOOD. Creepy, yes. Bad? NO! It's the perfect thing for Halloween, but instead of a man dressing as a monster, a monster dressing as a man. But inside, it is the soul that decides what you are.

Happy Halloween! May your day be full of supernatural fun!

-Ilse

P.S. I'll do a more in-depth analysis of Phantom in the future.

Do You Wanna Take A Selfie?

Hey guys! I wrote this random parody of Disney's Do You Wanna Build A Snowman. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own Frozen or the song Do You Wanna Build A Snowman.

I was supposed to do that, right? I don't know.

Do you wanna take a selfie?
Or we can text 6 feet away, You seem to just be interested in outdoor stuff, I don't like to play it rough, I still find pieces of that hay!! We used to chat on our phones, And now, we don't, Why do you wanna meet face-to-face? Do you wanna take a selfie? It doesn't have to be a selfie. Stop calling me, Anna. Okay, bye.
Do you wanna take a selfie? Or we can email back and forth, The wifi is working again, There's a new laptop in the den, Stop talking about Black Beauty the horse! It gets a little lonely, When no one else is on Facebook, Just watching fangirls post!! HP, Percy, Twilight. (The scene in frozen, except that Anna pays no attention, as she is texting)

My Odd Pet Peeeve

Image
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been a little preoccupied with this:Cutest. Dog. Ever.
Anyway, I have decided to share one of my odd pet peeves!
I know. You are so blessed. Bear with me, readers.
So I'll jump right into it. I love Disney's Beauty and the Beast. We all do, right? But one lyric irritates me So. Much! Remember the awesome first song? Well, when Belle is sitting at the fountain reading, she says, "Here's where she meets Prince Charming, but she won't discover that it's him 'til Chapter Three!" Chapter. Three. WHY would she find out that he's Prince Charming in CHAPTER THREE?!!! The reader shouldn't find out until at least Chapter 6, and the main character needs to wait until the third to last chapter!!!!
Ok. I'm done.
Bye guys!

Halloween

The time is growing nearer when skeletal hands grasp your shoulder to take you down...when night falls early and screams resound...when darkness shutters you in its grasp...until you are monstrous, at last.

Halloween, huh? Already? I started on July 3rd, so yesterday was my 3 month anniversary of blogging! Yay me! So as a special treat, YOU get to pick what I am for Halloween!

Yup. It's true. PLEASE, PLEASE comment below what you think I should be! I will pick on of the comments! So it's up to you to decide-should I be Lilliana DuVince, an opera star, a ghoul? Or even a jelly bean? I may regret this, but please, comment. I love comments! I know you guys don't comment very much, but I'm relying on you to choose my costume.

Gulp. Bekah, you are not allowed to force me to be a cat in a tutu. That I will not allow.

But anything else is fine! Honestly, if you don't comment, I'll just put on a sweatshirt and say I'm Janet Lowry.

Please, please do this for me, re…

Oh, the Sky

Image
Wow. Tonight as I walk along the well-worn pavement, I glance up, then stop and stare. The pink-tinged clouds hint of a magic now deemed impossible-a magic practiced by ancients, whose powerful deities may on a night like this descend to our careworn world. On a night like this, anything is possible.

Compliments

Sorry, this is my fourth post in two days...don't judge me.

This post is on compliments. What do I think? I think that my compliments are (almost) always sincere, but I don't really enjoy people complimenting me.

There are different reasons for compliments that I will go through.

1. Your appearance.

Maybe it's just a girl thing, but when I see a friend, it's like, I love your sweater, wow those boots are cute! I need to say it: sometimes I just don't get thanking someone for saying that something you're wearing is pretty. But now I get that, Ohh....it's about your talent at putting together the outfit...#epiphany. And as for how you look, sometimes you just need to hear how great your hair looks when you don't attempt to tame it. So this is the only category I like being complimented on. I know, I know, call me shallow, but when you actually put effort into your appearance, I want my friends to acknowledge it. So, if any boys (though I kinda doubt it) …

That Moment...

When you say a great last word and then the other person replies.

When someone answers a question not meant to be answered.

When someone talks about a party you weren't invited to.

When someone notices that you and someone else are having a sleepover and goes, "Oh, so you and so-and-so are sleeping over?"
Um. Yes. Sorry.

When you say something and you realize that it sounds SO. STUPID!

When you're groping around for your lamp-pull and you knock down a million things. Uh-oh...

When you just can't think of a blog post.

When you realize you've been on YouTube for an hour.

THESE ARE REAL PEOPLE.

Please comment if you relate. I need someone to join my pity party.

A Few Life Tips

I know what you're going to say: I really don't have to do this.
My reply? I know! That's what makes me so nice!!
Also, if you haven't seen Wicked and don't realize what AWESOME punning that was, no, I do not have that inflated of an ego.

1. Don't buy a platypus.
Seriously, guys. Just don't. It's not fun. Phineas and Ferb make it seem all cool, but trust me, it's hard.

We never had a platypuss11111

Stepsisters Part 2

Hey guys! Yes, I finally dragged myself to finish Stepsisters Part 2 and it was really fun! For those of you who haven't read the Part 1 do-over, then please read this post before you read the awesomeness I have in store for you today.

Stepsisters Part 2: A Prank to be Reckoned With
Recap: In Part 1, you get to know Elizabeth, her father, and the Swanbrook family. It ends with Elizabeth having revenge all ready for Jennifer for an unknown wrong she-that is, Jennifer-has done. If you are new to this blog I suggest reading Part 1 before continuing.
It was surprisingly easy to sneak some of Dad's shaving cream into VCMS (*Vincent Creek Middle School). It was even easier to sneak in the superglue, as well as the Tupperware. The picture and the lipstick? Not so much. The picture was from the program of a musical Mom had taken her to. It was called Flying Free and it was about a girl who runs away from her dysfunctional family in WWII to become a pilot. The girl's father was often …

Rabid Imagination Number 1

Welcome to a world where anything is possible, where wolves have souls and people fly. Welcome to somewhere were you can truly be you and I can truly be me.

This is Rabid Imagination, where I post whatever comes into my head! Please comment and keep the flow going.

Let the games begin!

Why is life so ghastly and
Defending blood is ghastly and
Sacrifice is ghastly and
All is right except the truth?

When will latkes fly?

There was once a toad named George.
He was a terrible bore.
He studied dirt lore
'Til found, shipwrecked on a shore.

OH! I want to tell you guys about a story idea I had. So this girl named Blue Orinsgale is a lot like KM Shea's heroines: she's smart with a hot temper. (BTW she has long very blond hair and blue eyes.) She lives at this orphanage but the peoples are nice. They basically adopted her, a really nice Mrs. Weasley/ Granny Relda/ Aunt Zelda type named Mrs. Plum?? WHAT SHOULD I CALL HER SHOULD I CHOOSE TO WRITE THIS OUT WHICH IS IMPROBABLE??? And …

Videos you Need to See

Hey guys! Don't ask me why I'm posting at six o'clock in the morning. It brightens my aura of darkness to tell you I woke up at five fifteen and could fall asleep again.

Dang it! I told you!

Anyway, this post is inspired by this post by Bekah the Bookworm.

Go on. Click it. You got time.

So I'm going to try not to do too many Studio C videos, but it will be a struggle. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!!!

Okay....these will not be in any particular order because I'm not that kind of organized. I don't even know how to put videos on here and have only a vague idea about which videos I choose. Deep breath. Here goes.

NUMBER ONE
is perfect for comedy lovers and Hunger Games fans, and yes I can sing/rap all these songs in my sleep. I know, I know, Studio C, but you have to love it! You know, I think I'll link. You are required by law to watch these.

Watch this first. Katniss should be on Team Peeta, yeah
Now watch this. Brown hair, soft eyes, kills children
NOW WATCH THIS, THE…

Baking

Mmm...Baking. Do you get excited when you hear that word? Does it bring to you thoughts of cracking eggs, or of chocolatey dough, or of brownies being pulled out of the oven, covered in shimmery heat? Ahh...baking is just as wonderful to me as blogging, though polar opposites.
What is it about baking? Do I love turning raw, inedible ingredients into something delicious and new? Or do I just love eating the dough, or confronting a challenge? I certainly don't like as much when the pastry comes out of the oven. What are your thoughts on baking? Also, remember, no one has entered the Magic Challenge yet! Oh, and Bekah, Lillianna said to tell you she teaches all-around fifth grade.

Books YOU Need to Read Right Now

Hey guys! A couple of my pals and I decided to tell you what you need to read. Right now. Like, run as fast as you can holding a laptop open to your library and feverishly check for the books. RIGHT NOW. DO IT.

Anyway, I decided as sponsor I should go first. We will each recommend a couple of books.
The people recommending are:
Me!
Lilliana DuVince
Mrs. Downtoearth
Mr. Cleanhallfreak
Dela Raye
Grace
The Chocolate Lover!!!! (my personal favorite)
Okay guys, it's me! I need you all to read:
The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall is about a family of one father, four girls, and a dog. The eldest is Rosalind, a sensible 12 year old who may or not be falling in love, with brave 11 year old tomboy Skye next in line, hot hot hot temper and all, 10 year old dramatically artistic Jane coming through, and shy animal-loving Batty, the four year old, in tow. What happens when a family such as this, completed with huge, lovable Hound, finds a new friend in the mansion in front of there guest cottage? And…

What I Do

In Naples, I couldn't decide which kind of ice cream to choose, chocolate or dark chocolate. Suddenly, all eyes were on me. What kind should I choose? Dulce de leche looked yum, but what with? "Ilse," Dad asked, "What do you want?" Now I had to decide. I could put it off no longer.
I picked both. Deal with it.

TMI Tag

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I haven't posted recently...feeling of shame...
Anyway, my friend Bekah left a TMI post up for grabs, so ***deep breath*** here I come....
                                                  What are you wearing?
A navy blue pocketed t-shirt, exercise shorts, an oversized maroon extremely soft Cambridge University sweatshirt, a Native American beaded bracelet, and a turquoise digital watch. What, it's called TMI Tag!!! Have you ever been in love? ...do fictional characters count? Because outside of Harry Potter, Gilbert Blythe, Jeffrey Tifton, Edmund Pevensie, Peter Pevensie, Prince Caspian, WESLEY I LOVE YOU, and (blush at the list) etc, I've never had a crush. Have you ever had a terrible breakup? Nope. Never dated, never had a crush outside of the pages of a book. How tall are you? 4 foot something or other. How much do you weigh? 8000 pounds. Next question. Any tattoos? Currently, I have no temporary tattoos, nor have I had any for years. And no, I don'…

Why?

The fundamental question in any organism's life varies, but it is normally where is food?. One of the few variations to this rule is the human being. In a way, on this planet it is our job to ask why. Why does the sun rise and set? Why do leaves change to scarlet and gold sometimes-or perhaps, sometimes turn green? Why do we fear? But most of all, why are we here? Why have humans been placed on this earth? I believe that there is a God, and He gave us this world to prove ourselves and gain eternal life. Some believe we evolved from monkeys, but most don't trouble their minds with it. I believe that that is one of the worst kinds of ignorance there is, to not have a sense of wonder and curiousity. So next time you see a mountain standing tall or a river gliding by, ask yourself why.

The Magic Challenge

That's right, readers! Another challenge! Let's get right to it...what is the magic challenge? The challenge is thus:

Make 1 slideshow.
Make it represent magic to you. It can be words, pictures, abstract shapes...anything. Hey, it can even be Harry Potter fanness! And there are no wrong answers. I will pick 1 random winner (using random.com) to win...:

1 Blog Post!
That's right people! The winner emails their post to me (same rules apply as below) and I will, no questions asked, post it on here. Unless it is rude or coarse or bad language-i-fied. (just covering my bases)

Email the slideshow to me. (most of you know my email. if you don't, you are probably someone who looks at Bekah's blog and you can email it to/share it with Bekah and she can forward it to me)
All right folks! It's YOUR time to make magic!

The Story of Dela Raye

Once, when cold winds were fair and the stars twinkled in the sky, a young girl lived in the village of Paraja. Her name was called Dela Raye and she wanted for her own a star on earth, a gem mined from the weeping dust. She went to the castle of the kingdom, Cantorin, and went on, past the iron gates, past the copper-studded doorways of ominous presence. To the kitchens went Dela Raye, and became a cleaner, a scurrier, an order-taker until many coins sang in her leather pouch. She to the Princess's presence chamber took herself, begging for the meagerest of jewels, a rhinestone dropped from a sparkled gown for the price of her coin. The Princess was outraged, fiery dark in soul. She took her coins, her shoes, her cap, left her in the damp and starving dungeon. A Prince, to be wed to the Princess, saw the cruel happenings and traveled himself to the prison where the freezing, hungry Dela Raye lay. He fell in love with her and her with him. He gave her a shining, violet gem, bread …

The Contest is Won-What does Lilliana DuVince Look Like?

Dear Online Friends,Hello! This is Lilliana DuVince, YOUR favorite teacher, and finally you get to know what I look like! If you want, you can imagine me however, because I know how frustrating it is when half-way through a book a character looks completely different than what you imagined. But for all intents and purposes, the winner of the contest is:
Bekah the Bookworm!
Bekah won with her entry here:
"In my mind, this is what she looks like (I can't help but put it in book form from the P.O.V of a new student);

'There she is!'
I looked up from my desk. My jaw dropped as I saw our teacher.
Ms. Lilliana Marianna DuVince did not look like a typical TV teacher. She looked like a cosplayer of Professor Trelawney strait out of a mad house.
Her flame-red curls--or, rather, knots--were held in a strange contraption of the back of her head, looking quite like a bird's nest, though slightly resembling a bun. Giant purple cat-eye glasses sat on the tip of her nose. Her large blu…

Lilliana DuVince's Advice Column

Hello world. I was planning to finish Stepsisters Part 2 but I'm not really in the mood right now, so...

Welcome to Lilliana DuVince's Advice Column!

What's that? It's where YOU comment questions to YOUR favorite teacher, and YOUR favorite teacher answers! Here's an example Q&As from Lilliana's pals.

Hey Lilliana!
Hi Lilliana. How are you? You are so cool. You always know what to say and do...I have your autograph framed on my wall. Well, I'm getting off track. My question is, what kind of pet is perfect for someone who:
a) spends most of her time online
b) has a short attention span
c) loves animals!
Please, please help me. I can do NOTHING until you give me the A-OK! Please, please help.
Thank you in advance!
Your biggest fan,
Nervous Ranter

Darling Nervous Ranter,
Oh, I remember you! You were always the one on, excusez-moi, the fringe when it came to rassemblements sociaux. From my extensive dealings with animals, I can definitely recommend the hedge…

Lillianna DuVince's Inbox

Hey guys! I've been requested to share more notes from Lilliana DuVince, YOUR child's teacher, so I decided to peek in her inbox-and share her replies. I wouldn't, of course, if I didn't know she didn't believe in suing.

Inbox 1: A Note from A Parent

Dear Miss DuVince,
I am convinced you have destroyed my Martha Anne. Every day she comes home with a new senseless romance novel by someone named Rebekah Starpaw. I have told her countless times that that is not appropriate for a third grader, but she just gibberished at me somethin' about inspiration and unique individual choice or somethin' like that. I was surprised, I'll let you know, little Miss Inspiration Unique Individual Choice. I think you should add How to Fry Bacon and other Household Know-how knacks to your class library. It may help Martha Anne's reading choices.
Frostily, Mrs. Down To Earth

Dear Mrs. Earth Why? Why sting me with the poison darts of disapproval? Why hurt me with the sword of ange…

Never Too Old (A Story by me, Ilse the Imaginer)

Hey guys! This is a story I wrote about a little girl...who becomes a young woman...who becomes an adult...who becomes a little old lady. I wrote it in one sitting after my grandma telling me how she got beautiful...can you guess? I'm sure you can after the story.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Once Upon A Time there was a little girl named Grace. Her mother and her father loved her very much, so for her sixth birthday, even though they were very poor, they bought her a little present instead of Mama getting a new hat and Papa getting a new tie.
When the special day came, Grace was almost too thrilled to eat. She had never gotten a real, actual present before, in a box wrapped up with pretty paper and a bow. “Mama, Papa, I feel happy and-and-sort of racing and scared all at once! What do you call that?” she asked. “You’re excited, darling,” replied Mama. “But please, don’t forget to finish your…
